Justification

Thyroid nodules are very common in the general population and may, according to some studies, reach up to 68% of the population. Although the vast majority of nodules are benign, the possibility of a malignant disease should be ruled out.

In this context, this study aims to evaluate the importance of the use of thermography in the investigation of thyroid nodules and its real role in the identification of malignant nodules. This exam is inexpensive, easy to perform, risk-free and can be an additional tool in identification of thyroid nodules suspected of malignancy.
