objective


General objective

  1. To evaluate the importance of thermography in aiding the diagnostic investigation of thyroid nodules in patients with HUAP-UFF.

Specific objectives

  1. To evaluate the feasibility of diagnosis of thyroid diseases using infrared images;
  2. Verificar e estabelecer um protocolo definitivo e adequado para o processo de captura das imagens termográficas dos nódulos tireoidianos;
  3. To verify and establish a definitive and adequate protocol for the process of capturing thermographic images of thyroid nodules;
  4. To evaluate the feasibility of thermography and the techniques of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules assisted by computer;
  5. Correlate the results of thermography with the characteristics found in thyroid ultrasonography;
  6. Correlate the results of the thermography with those of the cytopathological examination of the nodules obtained through PAAF;
  7. Correlate the results of the thermography with those of the histopathological, in the cases submitted to the surgery;
  8. Identify parameters in thermography that may suggest malignancy or benignity in thyroid nodules.
